History Tom Willis Barnes was born on July 12, 1913 to Lonzo and Margaret Barnes. He felt the call of God to preach at the age of 24 and began to evangelize in communities in Northwest Louisiana. At one of the meetings, he met Lucille Farrington and they were married a short time later in 1937. He evangelized until 1942 and then answered to call to Pindall, Arkansas where he Pastored for four years. In 1947 he was elected Pastor in Minden, Louisiana where he has ministered for 58 years. Brother Barnes has ministered across the country in numerous campmeetings and conferences. His words echo from eternity as he would say : Only Believe….Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever are truths for the twenty-first century until Jesus returns. |
